Registration and Regulations


FINES IN CASE OF NON-COMPLIANCE OR CAUSING DAMAGE:


A fine of 50.00 birr per volume per day is charged for late return of books with a regular two weeks loan period,A fine of 5.00 birr per volume per hour for reserve books or materials,If the borrowed books returned after the end of the term there will be 500.00 birr charge per item or book,ANY damage caused or loss of library books and other materials will be charged equivalent to replacement cost.


NB> MARKING OF BOOKS AND OTHER LIBRARY MATERIALS WILL BE CONSIDERED AS DAMAGE.


EXCLUSION FROM THE USE OF THE LIBRARY

The library committee shall have the power to suspend or exclude any user who disregards the rules and regulations,


  • The library staff has the right to send out or ask to leave any user who is found misbehaving or showing any misconduct that disturbs the other users.

DISCIPLINE OR CONDUCT THAT SHOULD PREVAIL IN THE LIBRARY

  1. 1. All users must observe total silence in the library and its environment at all times,

  2. 2. All users are required to show their college ID to library staff or security officer when entering library,

  3. 3. Use of mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the library. Total silence must prevail,

  4. 4. Baggage, cases, folders, etc. must be left outside or placed at the discretion of the librarian,

  5. 5. As library does not take responsibility for loss of personal property , books already signed out and personal belongings should not be left in the library,

  6. 6. Users are not allowed to log in using their personal passwords at the search computers or to access the internet from there. Do not shutdown the resources mate program after you are through with your search,

  7. 7. All users are required to show all items to the library staff security officer before leaving the library,

  8. 8. NO student is allowed to enter the circulation area without the consent of the library staff,

  9. 9. Anyone caught marking, defacing or mutilating books and any other library materials will be reliable to pay for the materials at the cost of most current edition of the same book or material,

  10. 10. Good order must be maintained in the library at all times. Forbidden behaviors such as putting foot on furniture, eating and drinking, smoking sleeping, etc. will not be allowed.

  11. 11. Group discussion is not allowed in the library and should not disturb other users,

  12. 12. Use of sound equipment such as radios, walk mans, cell phones, etc. are strictly prohibited in the library and its environment,

  13. 13. Seats in the library may not be reserved for a friend or other users,
  14. 14. Student and other users are not allowed to reshelf books after using them. Books removed from the shelf must be left on the table for the librarians to reshelf them.
  15. 15. NO library equipment be moved, modified or tampered without permission from the librarian.
